What material is used in the jewelry?

It depends on the piece. For the plastics, we use plant-based plastic as a sustainable alternative to traditional plastics. Unlike conventional plastics made from fossil fuels that contribute to climate change, our designs are crafted from Polylactic Acid (PLA), a renewable material derived from resources like sugar cane or cornstarch. Under the right conditions, PLA is biodegradable. For the metals, we use sterling silver or gold/rose gold-plated brass, crafted using the lost wax casting technique.

Our rings are exclusively available in sterling silver or vermeil (gold or rose gold plated over silver) to prevent discoloration on your hands. While plated brass is ideal for necklaces and earrings, as it won’t be exposed to the same wear and sweat as rings, it remains a durable and stylish choice for these pieces.

What is 3D printing?

3D printing is an additive manufacturing technique that emerged in the 1980s. Our 3D printers build items layer by layer from a digital model. We use PLA (a durable plastic) that is heated and extruded, similar to a hot glue gun. Printed on a 3D Printer in house! For the metal pieces, 3D printing is part of the manufacturing process to create the molds that are then casted in a metal of your choosing.

Are the metal pieces 3D printed too?

In order to achieve the complex designs in metal, it needs to be 3D printed first. A mold is then created out of the 3D print and then it is casted in a metal.

When will my order arrive?

On all items in stock, we typically ship out within 1-2 business days. Shipping durations vary based on your location. All orders are shipped from Los Angeles, CA. We typically carry a small inventory of our metal items to avoid excess production. Please see product page for more details on processing time for customized items. Most metals not in stock require 3-4 weeks of production time + shipping time.

US Orders: A choice of either USPS First Class or USPS Priority shipping is available at checkout. Both come with Tracking info that will be emailed to you at the time of shipping.

How is your jewelry eco-friendly?

Our jewelry is created with a commitment to minimizing environmental impact. Instead of using mined materials or traditional plastics derived from fossil fuels, we use PLA, a plant-based, compostable plastic. Our packaging is eco-friendly, with recyclable card stock and cardboard shipping boxes. All of our products are designed and made in the United States. 

Metal pieces come in limited stock. This is a great way to avoid excess materials for items that aren't bought yet, an eco-friendly approach.

Are the PLA pieces fragile?

Will my PLA pieces biodegrade?

Not unless you want it to! With regular use and storage, your jewelry will last a long time. It only biodegrades under specific conditions (heat, moisture, and microorganisms) typically found in industrial composting facilities.

What are the findings made of?

All of our earrings come with hypoallergenic sterling silver findings (lead and nickel-free!) or gold filled. Hypoallergenic stainless steel findings are available upon request.

What type of 3D printer do you use?

We use Prusa for our PLA pieces (in house!) 

Where are the earrings made?

All of our PLA pieces are designed, 3D-printed, and assembled in Los Angeles, CA. Metal pieces are designed in house and manufactured at a facility out of state.

How should I care for my 3D printed accessories?

PLA: To keep your accessories looking their best, avoid exposing them to extreme heat or harsh chemicals. A gentle wipe with a soft cloth should keep them clean and vibrant.

Metal: 

• Avoid exposure to moisture: Store metal pieces in a dry place to prevent rust or tarnishing.
• Clean carefully: Use a microfiber cloth to buff the surface and remove dirt. For deeper cleaning, use a gentle metal cleaner or polish.
• Keep away from harsh chemicals: Avoid exposure to perfumes, lotions, or cleaning products that could damage the metal finish.

Can I return or exchange an accessory?

If for any reason you are unhappy with your order, please contact us. We do not typically accept returns however we are always willing to make sure your order is just how you expect.
